The Journey to  ABIDE

“There's no us...no family anymore. You're just a drop-in visitor.”

Brianna’s words felt like a knife plunging into his heart. Especially knowing his wife’s words were true. Once a tender-hearted man of profound faith, Jake Taylor finds himself empty, lost, and in a nightmare he can't wake from. In what feels like the blink of an eye, he went from being on the fast track to wondering how fast everything he once cared about will unravel.

This redemptive quest, is a southern tale of uncovered secrets, fragile faith, and lost time. Jake must discover how—and why— the pieces of his life shattered. Was it simply a series of careless choices, a long buried past catching up, or something far more sinister?

Jake longs to return to a place of abiding—but instead finds himself at the crossroads of life and death. He'll have to risk everything to try and find his way back—with no guarantees. It's an improbable, twisting journey that will require him to see God with new eyes, his family with a new heart, and his future with a new hope.

Steve L. Johnson is a passionate lover of God, people, and story. He learned the hard way of God's unconditional love and now spends his days living it out.
